Ivan Ariza is an Associate in the Immigration Section. In 2006, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Geography from the University of California, Los Angeles. He attended George Mason University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2011. While at George Mason University School of Law Ivan founded the Immigration Law Society, and served as President of Phi Alpha Delta and the Sports and Entertainment Law Association. He also served as the Vice President of Marketing for the Trial Advocacy Association and participated in intramural and extramural Trial Advocacy competitions. As a Virginia Bar Association Pro Bono Society member Ivan performed client intake and drafted reports for pro bono cases.

Before joining Zelnick & Erickson P.C. Ivan gained immigration law experience serving as a legal intern with the Immigrant & Refugee Appellate Center where he assisted in defending asylum claims before the Board of Immigration Appeals and United States Courts of Appeals, and assisted in editing the Immigration Pleading and Practice Manual. Ivan also gained experience in asylum law and family-based immigration as a legal intern with Beach-Oswald Immigration Law Associates, P.C., and as an intern with the United States Department of Justice - Board of Immigration Appeals - Executive Office for Immigration Review.

Ivan is a member of the Virginia State Bar, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia (HBA-DC). Ivan has a native fluency in Spanish.
