Katie Desmond is an associate attorney in the firm’s Immigration Section. She has extensive experience practicing immigration law. Before joining the firm, she was a Partner at the immigration firm Assadi & Milstein, LLP in New York, NY, where her practice included representation of national athletic teams, orchestras, operas, museums, artists, actors, directors, musicians, large international non-profits, technology firms and healthcare providers, among others. Katie is well versed in the preparation and filing of PERM, nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications (including H, L, E1/E2, E3, TN, O, P and J), immigrant visas for multinational managers and executives, immigrant visas for Schedule A healthcare workers, immigrant visas for individuals of extraordinary ability, national interest waivers and family based petitions. She also has extensive experience providing strategic guidance and training on employment eligibility verification and compliance issues, including I-9 review and audit, as well as, LCA audit and training.

Katie has represented clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.

Katie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations with a concentration in Global Political Economy from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2003. She received her Law Degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, NY in 2006. Katie is admitted to the bar in New York State. She is a member of the New York County Lawyers Bar Association.
