Marta Borinsky is an attorney in the real estate law group. In her practice, Marta assists builders, individuals, businesses and lenders in every aspect of the purchase, sale and construction phases for both residential and commercial property. Marta and the real estate team provide a full spectrum of real estate services including offering contract and other document review and advice, conducting settlements/closings, reviewing title searches, issuing title insurance policies, administering escrow accounts and preparing deeds, contracts and other documents.
Marta also handles all legal matters pertaining to estate planning and administration, such as drafting wills and trusts, creating living wills (advance medical directives) and powers of attorney. She speaks regularly on estate planning, wills and trusts matters for varied constituencies.
Previously, Marta practiced civil and business litigation law in Charleston, South Carolina and Washington, DC. She also served as the Dean of Career Services and Director of the Pro Bono Program at the Charleston School of Law, where she established the Career Services department and helped to develop and build the Pro Bono Program at the newly formed law school. While at the School of Law, she taught Criminal Justice at the College of Charleston.
Marta graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and received her B.A. cum laude in History and English from the University of Pennsylvania. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her M.A. in Legal History from the University of Virginia.
Marta Borinsky is from Fairfax Station, Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia and South Carolina Bars. Marta is also a member of the Prince William and Fairfax County Bars. She is an active member of the Supreme Court Historical Society, and serves on the Board of the Full Moon Farm wolfdog sanctuary in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
